THE GYRO CLUB OF VANCOUVER

HISTORY

Gyro was founded in 1912 in Cleveland, Ohio at a time when social and service clubs were proliferating in Canada and the US. Presently, there are 115 clubs comprising 4200 members spread (about equally) throughout Canada and the US. Gyro promotes friendship through organized social activities, and to a lesser extent, involvement in community activities. Many of our activities are family oriented–with wives, significant others and children being an important part of Gyro life.

OUR CLUB

The Vancouver Gyro Club enjoys an active social program throughout the year. The main focus of our activities is semi-monthly meetings held September through June. These are lunch or dinner meetings at which business is kept to a minimum, and "fun" is actively promoted. We usually have a speaker at men's meetings, and often include our ladies at our other evening events.

MEETING TIMES & LOCATIONS

The second Wednesday of the month is a Men's Dinner - 6:30 PM for 7:00 PM @ at Season's In The Park

The third week of each month will hold a Lunch-around where a selected member hosts a social lunch at his favourite restaurant

The fourth Wednesday of the month is a mixed dinner at a variety of local restaurants
